Success Stories of 2019

As the year wraps up, we decided to pause and reflect on a wonderful 2019. Here are some of our favorite success stories from folks in underwriting, accounting, sales, and our front desk.

Lady Bigfoot Insurance Walking

Personal Lines:

“We were able to bind coverage for an art collection valued over $3 million. I offered two different quotes and the insured picked the more competitive policy because it covered the art collection while on their property as well as while it was being transported to an offsite storage facility during a renovation project. The agent was amazed how easy it was to bind coverage once they received the proposal.

The agent was happy coverage could be updated after the effective date of the policy to better reflect the insured’s growing collection and appreciative that I was always able to assist in a timely manner, whether that be guiding them over the phone through their first Bigfoot bind or uploading all of the policy documents to the Surefyre platform. The agent also appreciated our willingness to revise the quote as many times as necessary to make sure everything on it was to the insured’s exact specifications.

Because of this experience, the agent continues to work with us and find new markets that we have available to our agents in both commercial and personal lines.” —Saaya, Assistant Underwriter.

“We had an agent that had been unable to reach their high profile insured that spends majority of time in Asia. With less than 24 hours until expiration date and time we finally received the complete application.

The incumbent insurer could not continue coverage for a high value home due to loss of reinsurance for the area where home is located.  We were able to develop a program to satisfy the need of the insured utilizing our binding program.  Our renewal underwriter,  Akeyna Loftin, with assistance from Team Leader, Adriana Oregon, and I were able to quote, collect payment and issue binder to avoid further lapse in protection.

The agent was deeply apologetic that it was a last minute scramble to properly protect is client but thankful for the team effort and ability to think outside the box, work together and solve a coverage need.” —Mary A. Pierce, Chief Underwriting Officer.

Commercial Lines:

“We had a client bind personal lines account, but not a market due to them having a tenant, so it had to be flat cancelled. I quoted for the agent and she even referenced another similar client they had placed with us, so I could try to match those terms. After review, I discovered that client was not written correctly either, and although I asked the carrier for an exception, they want off the risk with a hot rush – tenant is home health care.

I sent a heads up to the agent that the this one was going to be cancelled too, but I was able to remarket for her and waived the fees this time. She apologized for not knowing the full nature of the risk but I was just glad that they got the coverage they needed in the end.”  - Heather Gilginas, AVP and Team Lead
